So, the update on snoring grandma!!! I had the sleep test a few weeks ago and the results are in...I stopped "breathing" an average of 48 times an hour and my O2 sats went as low as 82% (normal O2 sats should be on average 98%). Never fear though - I have been asured that I have not lost any brain cells so no smart remarks Jake and Justin!!!! Sooooo the treatment for this is to go on a CPAP machine (pronounced c-pap). So about a week ago I was fitted and oriented to this new machine that is now sitting on my bedside table. After using it for about 1 week I can honestly say that I think it is helping. I really do feel more refreshed in the mornings and I am not feeling near as exhausted as I was. Also I am not feeling the need to take naps off and on through out the day. I hardly take naps at all now (really and truly Jake!!) Denny says that I do not snore AT ALL. So I have returned to our master bedroom cause I had felt soooo bad that I kept waking Denny up and he would go to sleep on the sofa and he wasn't even in trouble!! I do have to sleep with this humidified air (presssure setting of a 10) that enters my nose through these nasal puffs and then a strap that goes around my head and under my chin loosely. I am getting used to it. I guess I'll have to use it for the rest of my life but the advantage is that by treating this problem now it can lessen my chances of B/P problems, heart disease etc. as I get older. I was rather intimidated by it at first especially because it isn't really attractive to go to bed with this on. I actually almost cried about it but then seriously scolded myself because having to do this is nothing compared to what some people have to go through and if this is all that happens to me then I can say I am really truly blessed!! Den was really sweet- he didn't laugh at me at all. He was really kind of glad I got this all taken care of I think - especially since now I don't snore and keep him awake.
Everything else is going well with us. Den is working hard. I am still at the hospital. Both of us are trying to save our pennies for Christmas in Destin.... we can not wait to see ALL of our kids!!!
Got to go- going out for chicken wings tonight---to Dad's favorite spot. Maybe catch some football on the screen too.
Love you all
Mom
